Get yo' horror on d00dz Oh, it's that lovely time of the year when all of the ghouls and goblins and ghost and whatever the fuck you kids dress up as these days come out(or lack there of)for an evening of madness and anticipation. The only true "day of the dead" for the dead, in celebration. Neat-o, right? Right. Not only is it that time of the year for the many masochist to humourize their Halloween evenings by placing razors in apples or luring children into their houses for "costume gatherings" this happens to be the most marketable time of the year for horror everywhere in the country. Halloween is now the second largest holiday in the United States (as measured by money spent). In addition to this, surveys show that about 20% of adult Americans report seeing, or being contacted by a "ghost." This is all taking place in a society in which people are living longer, and in which death is a less familiar event than it was a short 80--100 years ago. Spooky eh? I thought so myself. So, what exactly does the world have in store for all of you horror fanatics? Let's take a look! ---- This release is set for the 26th of October.
I already know exactly what your thinking. The thought and criticism has already crossed my mind. Tommy Chong? Whatever the fuck happened to this guy? And why in the world is he staring in a horror movie? Wait. Why in the world is he even still acting? So, what exactly is "Evil Bong" about and what in the world was Charles Band thinking when he decided to direct this? This guy has involved himself in over 200 movies, mostly horror themed as far as I know, and I can assure you that despite his work not being top notch (More recent films include Doll Graveyard and The Gingerdead Man where he was producer) it isn't going to get any better with "Evil Bong." I know. I'm being a bit ill towards a flick I have yet to see, which is rare in most cases, but not this one. There is just something about this that gives me an unsettling feeling. Not to the point of vomiting, but just cringing at someone's efforts, knowing they are trying their damnedest. Enough criticizing. Here's some brief info about this movie if your interested. - Synopsis - (It isn't brief. Just what I've found) The film revolves around a possessed evil bong named EeBee. Thanks UHM for your oh so awe inspiring and persuasive methods of grabbing my attention. - Cast - (There's supposed to be many "suprise cameos") Tommy Chong (Up in Smoke - 1978) Phil Fondocaro (Played an Ewok in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi - 1983) Bill Moseley (Special voice appearances in Evil Ed - 1997) Tim Thomerson (Sasquatch Mountain - 2006) Robin Sydney (The Gingerdead Man - 2005) Kristyn Green (Doll Graveyard - 2005) William Shatner (....) Brian Lloyd (Candy Stripers - 2006) Nothing of exceeding or high expectations. Many of these actors/actresses have all filmed together in previous films, but I have chosen to place down their most recent work. Regards to Phil Fondorcaro, Decadent Evil just wasn't worthy of listing. - Official Website - http://www.myspace.com/evilbongthemovie Official Trailer - http://www.charlesband.com/eb_teaser.mov This just gets more and more moronic as I post about it. That's all your getting on it. I'm sorry. Movin' along.. Something I am, as well as many others, are extremely excited about. This is set to release the 27th of October.
There are nine posters for this movie out there on the market. I happen to have the other eight. -
-
-
- There are also five special posters including Tobin Bell as the newest "Jigsaw." Ironically, Tobin's real blood was mixed with the paint. Mmm. Sexy. -

- Not her of course. Just the blood. So, if you caught the last film of this instalment that was released, you know the story. Well, the bits and parts they left in for you. Now if you didn't know, the original producer of the first two Saw films, Gregg Hoffman recently passed away to natural causes. And at first it was pretty uncertain as to how this would directly effect the third and "final" Saw instalment. Lionsgate eventually decided to follow up with the production of this movie with a script that will not only stay true to the original story but will take the Saw franchise to new limits. Filming began May 8th, of 2006 in Toronto, Canada and director Darren Lynn Bousman took this production right under way. A good thing that with the switch of the new producer that the director hasn't changed, because Darren has brought his best to these Saw movies. Personally, I'm excited. Real excited. Despite some of the members appearing on the cast list and this new direction that Shawnee Smith is taking as Jigsaw's new apprentice, Tobin Bell is going to let it all lose on this film guys. Trust me. - Synopsis - Jigsaw has disappeared. With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) is unaware that she is about to become the latest pawn on his vicious chessboard.
One night, after finishing a shift at her hospital, Lynn is kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse where she meets Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), bedridden and on the verge of death. She is told that she must keep the madman alive for as long as it takes Jeff (Angus Macfayden), another of his victims, to complete a game of his own. Racing against the ticking clock of Jigsaw's own heartbeat, Lynn and Jeff struggle to make it through each of their vicious tests, unaware that he has a much bigger plan for both of them... - Cast - Tobin Bell (Saw 1/2 - 2005/2006) Shawnee Smith (Saw 2 - 2006) Master P (MP Da Last Don - 1998) Angus MacFadyen (Saw 2 - 2006) Dina Meyer (Saw 2 - 2006) Bahar Soomekh (Mission Impossible III - 2006) Kim Roberts (Dawn of the Dead - 2004) Hussein Berro (Could find nothing) Lyriq Bent (Four Brothers - 2005) Mpho Koaho (Get Rich of Die Tryin' - 2005) As you can see, most of this cast has appeared in the Saw instalments while others appear to have more "street cred" then most. At first, I was skeptical, and still somewhat am of an appearance by Master P. But now my uneasy feeling is leading towards this Hussein Berro. Primarily because, if I am correct, he's got a huge part for an up and coming actor. Only time will tell on this. Offical Website - http://www.saw3.com/ Official Trailer - http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/movies.php?id=2975 He's returned, but not in the best of ways.. Sadly, there's another sequel. And this time, I don't think it's going to improve the franchise.
Don't recognize the face? Let me fill you in. Pumpkinhead is back, and this time, it's not through a theatrical version. It's going straight to the Sci Fi channel on October 28th. The director, Jake West, who has done various works on the Hell Raiser movies, as well as has filmed a short documentary on the Evil Dead series, states that he wants to try and up the ante from the first film. By doing this, he basically states that it's not just one person who goes to Haggis for vengeance, but a group of people which would make raising the demon a much more horrific mayhem. If you haven't seen any of the Pumpkinhead movies, you probably have no clue what I am talking about. Jake West and his crew have also redesigned the creature slightly, which is an exact replica of the original with a few new characteristics. This premier has ran highly on a budget, but Mr. West feels that this will mark the Pumpkinhead series . You want my input on it? Personally, whether your an avid Pumpkinhead fan or not, you don't have to avoid this, but if you can, do. It's airing on the Sci Fi Channel. If you want quality, rent the first of the series at your local video store. I assure you, that not only will it be ten times more promising, if it's even that, then this film will be. - Synopsis - The story centers around Doc Fraiser an eccentric small-town physician with a sideline in unauthorized organ donation. Once more, thank UHM for being so persuasive and detailed. Cast - Doug Bradley (Hellraiser:Bloodline - 1996) Dougless Roberts (Attack of the Gryphon - 2006) Lisa McAllister (The Number One Girl - 2005) Tess Panzer (Remember the Titans - 2000) Emanuel Parvu (Shadow Man - 2006) Ioana Ginghina (Dracula III: Legacy - 2005) Lance Henriksen (Scream 3 - 2000) Catalin Paraschiv (Return of the Living Dead: Rave to the Grave - 2005) Dan Astileanu (Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis - 2005) Dicu Aurel (An American Haunting - 2005) Lynne Verrall (A Kind of Hush - 1999) Emil Hostina (Sex Traffic - 2004) Philip Bowen (The Brides in the Bath - 2003) Vasilescu Valentin (Blood Rayne - 2005) Most of this cast has either appeared in films together, appeared in films together that were featured on Sci Fi, were uncredited in the bigger named movies, or were little to nothing in movies, like stunt doubles. If your one of those people who can't look past witty punch lines, horrible silences, or communication that tends to rarely make sense, this is definitely not for you. That's just how the Sci Fi channel rolls. I made plans for this night. I suggest you do too. If your still interested Official Website - http://www.scifi.com/pumpkinhead/ Official Trailer - None. On the night of Halloween.. Like me, and with no real true plans of whatsoever, you may want to spend a small amount on this little feature.
This is set to go straight to DVD in stores on the day and night of Halloween. I haven't heard much of it, except until recently and it caught my attention shortly after reading who was on the cast. Maybe you aren't as appreciative of me, but it looks pretty interesting. Also, the director Bob Keen is an SFX artist that has worked on films like Candyman, Dog Soldiers, and Wax Worth. This was originally written by a first time screen writer Vlady Pildysh, so I'm looking forward to see what this up and coming guy can do. Being an up and coming screen writer myself, it'll be interesting to see how this guy goes about with his first project. - Synopsis - Injured and hospitalized, two young people discover how much worse things can get when the dilapidated facility in which they are stranded is hit by a severe storm and a maniac stalks the corridors butchering the patients and staff. Cast - Meredith Henderson (Heartstopper - 2006) Nathan Stephenson (Heartstopper - 2006) James Binkley (Land of the Dead - 2005) Michael Cram (Heartstopper - 2006) Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street series) Despite the cast all appearing in the same movie earlier this year, mostly, this movie has a classic, if not a legend in it. Robert Englund, also known as Freddy Krueger, has appeared lately in many budgeted movies, which actually haven't been half bad. A prime example is the remake of 2000 Maniacs, 2001 Maniacs, which I highly suggest checking out. Especially if you are a gore whore. This time though, he aint playing no killer. He's playing as Sheriff Berger. Let's see how well he takes up the "good guy" role. Official Website - None. Official Trailer - http://archetypefilms.ca/video/flashPlayer.cfm?v=20 This is as up date to date as up to date can get, as far as releases for the final week of October. ---------------------------------- To conclude this update.. I'm actually a bit let down and disappointed. Considering the fact that this is the upcoming final week of October, which means Halloween is right around the corner, you'd expect a lot more from such a marketable industry. Sadly, it just isn't that way this year. As appreciative as I may be of the world of horror, this year does not look promising nor appealing..at all. To put what I'm saying in smaller words, resort to this insight if you have nothing else to do. And go see Saw 3! Would ya? ---------------------------------- First and foremost I want to thank everyone who's taking the time of stopping by, saying what's up, showing signs of anticipation or excitement, and even going to MySpace and adding either my band or personal account. It really does mean the world to me. NEXT UPDATE WILL INCLUDE.. 1. Releases of the first two weeks of November 2. Three movie reviews, brought to you personally by me 3. Possible in the talk remakes for 2007 (Some may vary) 4. Recent Death of actress Phyliss Kirk 5. New Hellraiser movie? Words from Clive Barker! Have a safe and wonderful Halloween kids! |
